A BUS company is offering serving soldiers and veterans free travel to commemorative services on Remembrance Day.
First Essex will not charge anyone who is travelling in military uniform or is able to produce a Ministry of Defence issued identity card with their branch of the military stated on Sunday, November 11.
Staff at the bus company who have previously served in the forces are also being encouraged to support the event by wearing their own military attire on Sunday while driving.
This particular year is expected to be particularly poignant as it is a century since the Armistice at the end of the First World War.
Managing director of First Essex Steve Wickers said: "This is an important day for many people who want to remember family, friends and others who have been lost in military service.
“I am pleased to be supporting Remembrance Sunday on this 100th anniversary and want to make it as easy as possible for people to attend the events organised across the county.”
