A controlled explosion was carried out after a bomb was found off the shore of Shoebury.
The Southend Coastguard team were called to the bomb off East Beach, Shoeburyness on Friday.
Coastguards from Southend and Canvey Island attended and found several objects which were photographed in situ and were confirmed as being military bomb.
It was decided that the Royal Navy would attend at low tide on Saturday and deal with the objects.
