A GRINDING machine caught fire in a Rochford warehouse.
Firefighters were called to an industrial warehouse on Rochehall Way in the Purdey's Industrial Estate, Rochford after reports that a machine has caught alight yesterday.
A spokesman for Essex Fire Service said: "On arrival firefighters reported that a large grinding machine was 100 per cent alight and the building was 100 per cent smoke logged.
"Firefighters worked quickly to isolate the machine and bring the fire under control, extinguishing it by 11.55am.
"Firefighters then used Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) fans to clear the building of smoke.
"The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental.
"The machine has been completely destroyed, along with a number of surrounding ones. The building did not suffer any fire damage."
No one was injured.
