POLICE are appealing for information after a man was stabbed during a burglary.

Two men broke into a barn in Days Lane, Pilgrims Hatch, at 1pm on Tuesday.

A worker at the site challenged them and one of the men stabbed him in the chest with an unknown object.

He was treated in hospital for his injuries and later discharged.

The suspects were described as white, aged in their mid-20s, and wore hoodies.

They ran off towards nearby fishing lakes and an extensive search was carried out to try and find them.

PC Frankie Cole said: “This was a really nasty incident and fortunately the victim was not seriously injured.

“This is a rural area so it is likely the suspects were using a vehicle. I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw anyone matching their description, or anyone acting suspiciously.

“I’m also keen to speak to anyone who has dash cam footage or CCTV.

“Extra patrols will be carried out in the area and I ask people to stay vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or concerns to police.”
