Could you give up chocolate for a whole month?

The British Heart Foundation is asking you to do just that with its annual Dechox campaign.

If you think you can brave 28 days without the sweet stuff, then we’ve got everything you need to know about taking part.

What is the campaign?

Dechox is a nationwide campaign to give up chocolate for the whole of February to raise funds for life saving research into heart and circulatory conditions.

It’s not just chocolate though, anything with cocoa in it is off limits.

It aims to also encourage people to lead a healthier, happier life by getting your friends and family to give up the chocolate too this month.

What are the benefits?

A great reason to get involved is to experience a healthier lifestyle and kick out old habits.

Chocolate has a lot of sugar in it which can lead to type 2 diabetes, obesity and heart disease.

If you struggle to survive the month the Heart Foundation’s website has loads of chocolate free recipes and fundraising tips for you to enjoy.

How do I sign up?

Get started by signing up to the British Heart Foundation website to create a JustGiving page to collect donations.

Just set a fundraising goal and start dechoxing!

If you are under 16 you must ask a parent or guardian to sign you up.
