CLACTON MP Giles Watling is set to host a fair showcasing services available for older people in Tendring.

Mr Watling is looking for exhibitors to participate in the Older People’s Fair, which will take place at Clacton’s Princes Theatre this summer.

The MP said he is keen to hear from organisations, charities, support groups, businesses and community groups that offer services to the over-55s.

He added: “I have met with large numbers of organisations and businesses that offer services to the over-55s.

“However, all too often, few people are aware of the great work that local organisations do.

“I wanted to pull together companies, charities, businesses and support groups so they can showcase their services to local residents.”

The event, which is free to exhibitors and members of the public, is designed to raise awareness of the different services available to residents who are over 55.

Exhibitors already confirmed include Barclays Bank, who will be talking about cyber-crime prevention, Clacton Voluntary Services and a local solicitor’s practice who will be discussing wills.

The Older People’s Fair will take place on June 18 from 10am to 2pm.

Anyone interested in exhibiting at the fair should call Lucy on 0781 088 7096 or email lucym.patonbrown@parliament.uk.
