POLICE are appealing for information after a man mysteriously broke both his leg and foot following an incident in Braintree.

Officers were called to Marks Farm roundabout by a concerned father after his son got out of his vehicle and ran off.

The man, aged in his 20s, was later found with a fractured leg and foot and later was taken to hospital, where he remains.

Detectives are trying to establish whether the man, who was suffering from a mental health episode, sustained his injuries during a collision.

There were no reports of any collisions but it remains an active line of enquiry.
