COLCHESTER will lose one of its pound shops in the town centre this month.
Poundland in Long Wyre Street announced it will be closing its doors for good on March 23.
Bosses felt focus should be on one store, as opposed to having numerous stores across town.
Colchester has three Poundland stores at the moment - the other two being in Culver Street and St John's Walk.
A spokesman said: "We already have another store around the corner on Culver Street in Colchester and it makes sense to focus on one location.
"So, while we’re saying goodbye to Long Wyre Street, shoppers won’t be disappointed.
"As you’d expect, we’re doing everything we can to accommodate the 11 colleagues there at other stores nearby."
