A SPITFIRE was seen in the skies over York this weekend, as part of the annual Yorkshire Air Museum wartime reenactment event.
Against The Odds saw scores of re-enactors recreating Second World War-era RAF Elvington to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.
The event ran throughout Saturday and Sunday, and saw members of the York Normandy Veterans Association attend, with the museum's four-engine Halifax bomber and a Douglas C-47 Dakota at the centre events, as air and ground crews in full period uniform and kit assemble around the aircraft for photographs.
