A HORSE has been killed after a crash on the M25.
Essex Roads Policing Unit South tweeted at around 5am that several horses were running loose on the motorway near the Dartford Crossing.
Sadly, one of the horses was hit by an HGV and died at the scene before police could close the road.
One lane of the motorway is closed between the crossing and junction 30, with heavy traffic on the motorway and on the A13 leading up to junction.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travelling in the area.
#Thankyou for your patience whilst we, @HighwaysEAST and @GRAYS_LPT dealt with loose horses on the #M25. Sadly one horse died after hitting a HGV before we could shut the road, a lane is closed whilst we arrange removal so expect delays J30 > DRC @EPRoadsPolicing @EssexPoliceUK pic.twitter.com/fRGSJNM3DA
