A NORTH-EAST entrepreneur has launched a fashion brand designed to celebrate women in their late 20s to 40s, and she hopes its title – Make No Apologies – will make people think about today's judgmental society.

The brand, created by busy working mum Maeve Davies, has grown in the past year and is now ready to take the next step following a £40k investment. The online adult collection, which comprises a range of bright pastel T-shirts, jumpers and hoodies, has now been joined by a children's range. The organic cotton and recycled material tops sport slogans such as Imperfectly, Be Bold, Alive and Fabulous Mother, and are produced in conjunction with the Fair Wear Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works to improve conditions for workers in garment factories.

Make No Apologies founder Maeve Davies says: “When I launched the brand, it was really important to me that we represented a strong message. Living in a such a judgmental society, whether it’s about size, race, religion etc, I wanted to get a message across that we should never apologise for who we are.”
