A 16-YEAR-OLD has been found guilty of spitting at station staff in Benfleet.
The teen was hauled into court after DNA found in the saliva was tested.
He was sentenced to complete 240 hours, pay £50 in compensation, and must obey a 7pm to 7am curfew for six months, after he spat at a member of staff at Benfleet train station for no reason.
In a tweet posted this morning, a spokesperson said: "A 16-year-old male spat on a member of c2c rail staff at Benfleet station for no reason."
"Found guilty at court with the help of the DNA we found in his spit, he has to pay £50 compensation, is subject to a 6 month 1900-0700 tagged curfew & has to complete 240 hrs of unpaid work."
