A MAN has been injured and taken to hospital after an "incident involving a road roller."
The man, aged in his 50s, was taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital this afternoon, after the incident on Horace Corner, Billericay Residents reported that there was a heavy police presence in Billericay at approximately 2pm.
A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "We were contacted at 1.40pm today, Wednesday 9 October, with reports a man had been injured in Horace Road, Billericay, in an incident involving a road roller.
"The man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital, and we have made the Health and Safety Executive aware of the incident."
A spokesperson from the Essex and Herts air ambulance, added: "We were called to Horace Road at around 1.30pm today to reports that a man had been injured.
"We sent an ambulance and crews treated the patient at the scene before transporting him to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further assessment and care."
