Same Place Exhibition

Where: The Gardens Gallery, Montpellier Gardens, Cheltenham

This exhibition assembles new work from Cheltenham-based artists Janet James and Conrad Clarke.

These artists have taken numerous trips to Miserden together, and this is their response to these trips, whilst their subjects and compositions are consistent, their palettes and techniques are distinctly different.

Illustrators Fair

When: November 9 and 10, from 11am to 4pm daily.

Where: Museum in the Park, Stroud

Talented students from the University of Gloucestershire and SGS Stroud School of Art will take over the art gallery with stalls selling wonderful and wacky illustrated wares.

Jean Jones Gallery

Where: The Malthouse Collective, Painswick Road, Stroud

A treat is in store for all those who were regular visitors to the Jean Jones Gallery until 2015 and have missed seeing unique and splendidly vibrant paintings, and Jean will be available to speak to each Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm.

An Insubstantial Pageant

Where: Fosse Gallery, Stow-on-the-Wold

The title comes from the well-known speech by Prospero in The Tempest: act 4, scene 1.

The figures have been described as ‘ghosts’, this work is strongly influenced and inspired by the past and by memory: by the ghosts of the renaissance painters, players, audiences, and Shakespeare.

Examined Expressions

Where: Lansdown Gallery, Lansdown Road, Stroud

The fourth in a series of biennial exhibitions.

The exhibition showcases a diverse range of artistic styles including figurative, abstract and conceptually-orientated pieces, and the eleven artists come from three counties.

Crafted for Christmas
