The former Southend youth mayor has organised a musical event, in a bid to revitalise the borough's youth music scene.

After making it his mission during his term as youth mayor to switch up music in Southend, Nathaniel Whitehouse created Music Mayhem, to allow young bands and musicians to showcase their natural talent.

The event, will take place at Twenty One, which is based opposite Southend pier on November 24.

It will run from 1pm and 6pm, with doors opening at 12.30pm, in support of HARP, Southend's homeless charity.

Coming from a musical background himself, former Youth Mayor, Nathaniel Whitehouse, said: “A platform such as this is an excellent opportunity for up and coming musicians to get a good start in their music careers.”

Eugene Vlas, the current youth mayor, said: “I am looking forward to the event and on behalf of the other youth councillors, I am sure they are too.”
