POLICE are hunting a pervert who walked around a train station car park with “nothing below the waist”.

A teenage girl was approached by the man near Wickford Train Station prompting calls for better security and CCTV.

During the incident it was reported a man got out of a white Nissan van naked from the waist down.

Another witness pulled the teenage girl away from the man to keep her safe and drove her away from the scene at about 8.30pm on Saturday night.

Officers from Essex Police then kindly dropped the victim at home after she had reported the incident.

Eunice Brockman, a councillor of the Wickford North ward, has called for “much needed” security in the Wickford train station car park.

The incident has been condemned by many, including Mrs Brockman who stated that she has called for CCTV to be put into the car park multiple times.

She said: “It shows that this is why we need to put it in there.

“We have more CCTV at all stations, especially this one.

“It’s mental abuse.

“I feel really sorry for her.

“I’ve stood there before late at night and you do feel vulnerable.”

Greater Anglia, which manages the car park security, were contacted for a statement about the incident and confirmed there is CCTV in the car park.

No description has been released of the man responsible.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police urged witnesses or anyone with information to call 101, quoting the incident number of 42/5839/20.
