THE Bampton Trust based in the pretty village of Bampton, in the Lowther Valley, is looking for new tenants with plenty of enthusiasm and community spirit to live in and manage it’s local shop, Post Office, B&B and Tea room.

Set up in 1996 the charity The Bampton Trust aims to play a key role in achieving a sustainable community by providing affordable housing for local people to rent. The trust has a total of six properties at present, all currently occupied. However the present tenants renting Norbrock House which was converted by the trust into a village shop and post office together with two independently accessed en-suite B&B rooms now wish to move on.

Susan Bowman, who is chair person of the Bampton Trust comments “We are looking for people who are keen to become part of the community and develop the business currently being run from the property” also saying “Bampton is such a lovely village with lots of community spirit and it would be a shame to see one of our main focal points disappear”.

The trust also offers small grants to local residents in the local area and in need of help including funds towards training first responders and helping schools with stationary such as books and laptops.
