A TOY re-use campaign that saw a waste management company partner with a children’s hospice has been hailed a success.

Yorwaste, which has multiple sites across North Yorkshire, asked for donations of unwanted toys which it then distributed to the charity shops of Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People.

All of the donations have now been dispersed to 12 charity shops and it is expected they will generate £650.

Additionally, three donated children's bikes and two go-karts will be kept and used for children to play with at the hospice.

Stephanie Rimmington of Martin House, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Yorwaste, and to everyone who has donated to the appeal, for supporting Martin House."

She said the money will make 'a real difference' to families using the hospice.
