GLASGOW bars are being given dedicated training on Scotland’s national drink.
Scottish modern pub The Gate and Experience Glasgow have launched a new one-day hospitality course dedicated to making whisky simple for bartenders and consumers.
Whisky Wonderland was created after research found that there was a lack of understanding about the drink amongst frontline hospitality staff.
Andy Gemmell, whisky expert and owner of The Gate, said: “Scotch whisky is a vast category and can be overwhelming to bartenders and consumers.
"What we want to achieve with Whisky Wonderland is a session that will break down those barriers.
“It is about being able to sell the right brand to your guests based on flavour.”
The first pilot sessions take place on Tuesday, February 25, and Tuesday, March 10.
