A QUIZ organised by teenagers helped to support the work of a charity aiming to end loneliness for the elderly.
The All Ages Rotary quiz night was organised by four girls aged 14 and 15.
They all chose to support Age Concern Colchester for their Rotary International youth leadership and management project.
More than 100 people took part in the quiz, raising £750 for the cause.
Simon Prestney, CEO of the charity, said: “These girls did everything towards making the evening a big success, including creating the quiz, selling tickets, providing the food and acting as quiz masters.
“Our young hosts were aware loneliness is occurring at an epidemic rate in later years.
“They hoped some of the people who access Age Concern’s facilities might take this opportunity for a night out, which they did in their droves.”
