FOUR men have been charged with aggravated burglary after balaclava-clad raiders broke into a property.
Police received reports four people had broken into the address in Hawthorn Avenue at 4am on Wednesday.
Two people inside was assaulted and mobile phones were taken.
Four arrests were made a short time later.
Manny Clark, 31, of Poplar Hall Close, Colchester, Francis Ward, 45, of Wilkin Court, Colchester, Sean Middler, 36, also of Wilkin Court, Colchester, and Glen Luckhurst, 37, of Greenstead Road, Colchester have all been charged with aggravated burglary.
Luckhurst has also been charged with two counts of robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place in relation to a separate incident.
They are all due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
