NO further deaths related to coronavirus are reported to have occurred at the trust which runs Colchester Hospital.

East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust, which runs both Colchester and Ipswich hospitals, has not recorded the death of a patient diagnosed with the coronavirus since last Tuesday, July 14.

A total of 353 people with the virus have lost their life at the trust.

NHS England reported the deaths of three patients diagnosed with Covid-19 in the East of England within its daily announcement on Sunday.

One was reported at the Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust and one at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

The total number of people who died at Basildon Hospital stands at 307.

NHS England revealed a further nine people who tested positive for the virus have died in hospitals across the country.

This brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,281.

The patients were aged between 36 and 89 years old, and all had known underlying health conditions.

The figures record deaths against the date they happened, rather than the date the deaths were announced.
