Bosses have today announced that there has been a confirmed case of coronavirus at Shoebury High School.

After speaking with an advisor on the Department for Education (Dfe) helpline and going through a vigorous risk assessment, it has been revealed that headteacher Clare Costello has been informed that no further action needs to be taken.

This is due to the fact that the positive case, which the school have confirmed is a member of staff, had their last day at work two days before the positive test.

School bosses at SECAT (Southend East Community Academy Trust), have also said that the member of staff has confirmed no close contact with any staff or students.
