A PERVERT who paid to watch the sexual abuse of young girls has been put behind bars for four years.

Adrian Page, 58, preyed on young, vulnerable children by forking out thousands of Philippine pesos, arranging to watch sickening live videos.

Police first searched Page’s home in January 2018, seizing a number of electronic devices.

They were analysed and were found to contain both indecent images of children, including 34 of the most serious Category A, and extreme pornographic material.

Page’s search history revealed a sexual interest in young girls.

Police found Page had been involved in online conversations dating back to 2015, relating to the live stream sex trade in the Philippines.

Page was found to have paid for, arranged and watched live videos depicting the sexual abuse of young girls.

He admitted eight counts of arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child, four counts of possessing indecent images of children and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.

Judge Rupert Overbury said he had read references from some of the people closest to Page, who worked as a quality engineer.

“They describe you as kind, honest, considerate man, who is hardworking and trustworthy,” he said.

“None of them can fathom for one moment what drew you into the depths to which you sank.”

He added: “At your request, order and payment, young children did carry out sex acts upon themselves and it appears, certainly on one occasion, with other children.

“In paying for them to do that, you disregarded their rights, their feelings and any damage you were causing to them physically and mentally.

“You preyed upon vulnerable victims, predominantly in a poor country.

“Children were abused for your sexual gratification. You paid for it on numerous occasions."

Judge Overbury said it took only his common sense and experience with other cases to come to the conclusion such offences can cause “psychological, emotional and physical damage.”

“Others, desperate for money, ceded to your requests," he said.

“You specifically asked for ‘thin, young girls’ to act out your fantasies.”

Page, of Chapel Road, Langham, was sentenced to four years imprisonment and made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
