AN appeal has been launched after a lorry driver believed to have been involved in a rush-hour smash on a busy road left the scene without stopping.
Essex Police were called to reports of a crash on the A12, just before the junction with Marks Tey, at about 5.50am this morning.
The smash is believed to have involved a car and a lorry, but the driver of the lorry failed to stop at the scene.

As a result of the accident one Londonbound lane between Stanway and Marks Tey was blocked to traffic for roughly an hour before eventually being cleared.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact the force by calling 101 and quoting incident 176 of 5 October.
