A MAN who failed to say who was driving a vehicle after an alleged offence has avoided being disqualified.

Zachery Farrell, 33, of Whitmore Avenue, Grays, was required to say who was driving a Ford Ranger in Wales on June 21.

At West Glamorgan Magistrates' Court the case was dealt with via the single justice procedure on January 17.

This means the case was decided by a magistrate and defendants don't have to appear in court.

Farrell was handed six penalty points but avoided a totting disqualification as magistrates heard he would not being able to continue working in Cornwall or visit his child in Wales.

He was handed a £1,000 fine and must pay £90 costs and a £100 victim service fund charge.
