Colchester has undergone great change over the years.

We've had a look through our archives to create a comparison of some of the town's streets with pictures dating back to the 70s and 80s.

Four decades is a long time and some have changed as shops come and go, while others look near identical.

Pictures show parts of High Street, Eld Lane and Long Wyre Street through the years compared with now.

There are also pictures of St Botolph’s Street and the Ipswich Road roundabout.

Take a look at our pictures through the years.
