A SUPERNATURAL comedy horror film is leading this week’s line-up of films at the Empire Theatre.

The Lost Boys, rated 15, will be showing this Friday, April 26.

Starring Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland and Jami Gertz, it tells the story of Lucy, along with two sons, Michael and Sam, who move to a small town in California.

Soon the two boys are sucked into the mysterious and dangerous world of bikers, vampires and vampire hunters.

Doors open at 7.15pm for 7.45 pm. All seats £5.

The Wednesday matinee, on May 1, is What Happens Later, starring Meg Ryan and David Duchovny.

Snowed in at a regional airport overnight, ex-lovers Willa and Bill realise that they are still attracted to each other - but also still equally annoyed with each other.

Doors open for the 15-rated film at 2pm for 2.30 pm. All seats £5.

The same evening, on May 1, streaming from The Royal Opera House will be Carmen.

Watch Aigul Akhmetshina and Vasilisa Berzhanskaya share the title role in Damiano Michieletto’s searing new production of Bizet’s ever-popular opera.

Doors open at 6.15pm for 7.45pm. Online booking is available at empire-theatre.co.uk.

Two weeks later, the Wednesday matinee on May 15 will be Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, rated PG. Starring Elaine Paige and Sir John Mills, this is the first ever film of his screened direct from the stage at The New London Theatre in Drury Lane. Not be confused with the 2019 film.
