A BRENTWOOD male grooming salon owner has been named Essex Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2010.

Matthew Norris, 29, who set up and runs his business, Menace, in Shenfield High Street, was awarded the title at Essex Countywide Business Awards.

He beat off competition from five other finalists at a ceremony held at Cliffs Pavillion in Southend.

The award was judged by the Business department at Essex University, and the process included two interviews and a site visit.

Mr Norris said: “It was quite an emotional evening, as having your own business is more than just a job.”
