BRENTWOOD’S planning officers are sending a strong message to travellers after securing another injunction preventing caravans from moving on to green belt land.
The council has succesfully obtained an injunction in the High Court to protect land on Lizvale Farm, in Goatswood Lane, Navestock.
This is the fourth such injunction the council has been awarded since November 2009, and it forbids people from moving caravans or mobiles on to the site, or laying down hardcore and access roads. An interim injunction was granted and served on September 7, and a further hearing on September 14 confirmed the order. Land on two sides of the area covered by the new injunction is already home to travellers.
Louise McKinlay, leader of Brentwood Council, said: “This is another successful example of how we are working hard to ensure planning laws aren’t flouted. I would like to thank everyone involved at the council for their hard work ensuring no further incursions took place on this land.”
