THE whole Essex stretch of the A127 could soon be covered by average speed cameras.
Proposals are now being discussed to put the cameras on both carriageways of the London-bound track of the A127, stretching from the Fortune of War roundabout at Laindon to the junction of the M25, including the stretch that borders on Brentwood.
The limit will remain at 70mph limit – with the exception of the Fortune of War and close to Southend.
Next month, transport bosses at Essex County Council will decide whether to press ahead with the project to cut speed and crashes on the dual carriageway.
