A man has been arrested for drugs offences by a sergeant and his police dog.
A 48-year-old man was taken into custody this morning after members of the public raised the alarm.
Police were called just after 12.40am with reports of three men acting suspiciously in Josselin Road on the Burnt Mills Industrial Estate in Basildon.
Sgt Jamie Edwards and police dog Rhianna went to the scene and the man co-operated with them.
A large quantity of cannabis in boxes was discovered as well as an offensive weapon.
The man was arrested on suspicion of theft, possession of an offensive weapon and drugs possession.
