TWO men are being sought who may have witnessed an assault which led to a man's death in Brentwood.

Paul Wallington, 25, was assaulted outside The Vine bar in the High Street at around 11.50pm on December 24.

Sadly, he died in hospital five days later.

Essex Police officers investigating the crime have spoken to more than 20 witnesses but now need to trace the two men pictured in the CCTV images.

A spokesman for the police said: "One of the men is described as wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans, and had a distinctive dark-coloured hospital boot on his lower right leg.

"The other man is described as wearing a green top and dark jeans."

A 29 year-old man from Basildon has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and is on bail until March 25.

Following Mr Wallington's death, The Vine Bar had its license suspended by Brentwood Borough Council at the request of Essex Police.

His family said they were "devastated" over his death.

In a statement they said: "He was a happy and loving son and enjoyed spending time at home with his family, especially his nephews and nieces.

"Paul is a much loved son, brother and grandson. We would ask that at this time we are left in peace to grieve as a family."
