A group of volunteers from a fast food restaurant joined a litter pick event.

The helpers from McDonald’s restaurants in Chelmsford worked to litter pick in the city.

It was part of the national Great British Spring Clean campaign, run by Keep Britain Tidy.

The group worked in Back Lane and Sorrell Close and collected 16 large bags of litter from the area.

McDonald’s franchisee Ahmet Mustafa, said: “McDonald’s has been collecting litter in our communities for more than 35 years, and I’m proud of our litter fighting heritage. Its more important than ever we continue in the fight against litter and I would like to thank my employees for giving up their time for this clean up event.

"I would also like to thank Little Waltham Parish Council for helping us to make a real difference. The team’s efforts were greatly appreciated, and we look forward to the next litter pick.”
