Will Best has said he’s doing Strictly Come Dancing in honour of his co-host AJ Odudu.

The Big Brother presenter, 41, is currently competing in the BBC show and revealed he is hoping to lift the Glitterball Trophy for AJ, who was forced to withdraw from the 2021 final due to an ankle injury.

Mr Best told OK! magazine: "I'm doing it for her.

"I'm trying to avenge her for her unfortunate injury.

"AJ came to the first live show and just before we went out one of the production team came running in with a card – she'd written me a lovely good luck message.

"It's nice knowing I've got friends who've been through the process and are now in my corner."

He also spoke about the physical demands of training.

Mr Best said: "It feels like I've developed claws.

"And I've got a dodgy old knee.

"I've been having physio on that.

"We can't get away from the fact I'm a middle-aged man and I forget that.

"Then I'm reminded of it when I try to do a slut drop.

"So painkillers and Deep Heat are my best friends at the moment."

Alongside his TV work, Mr Best recently became a father to son Sonny, with fiancée Tobi Rose.

He described the experience as "magical".

Mr Best said: "Life as a dad is great.

"He's a chill in the day, party at night boy.

"He comes alive around the 1am mark.

"Most of the time, he's just snoozing on my chest and it's the most surreal, beautiful thing.

"It's magical."

He also said that staying busy helps him avoid overthinking.

Mr Best said: "If I'm not really busy, I just overthink things.

"I do feel like the busier I am, the happier I am."
