Kelvedon Hatch 1-3 Newbury Forest
KELVEDON Hatch lost out in the Essex Saturday Premier Cup Final as Newbury clinched the silverware for the second time in three years.
Forest secured the cup with two late goals, having initially trailed to Lee Cody’s 31st-minute effort.
Skipper Danny Kenny levelled the scores for Forest in first-half stoppage time and a stunning strike from full-back Andrew Lane and another injury time contribution, this time by substitute Freddie Anderson, sealed the success for manager Leo Connolly’s side.
He said: “It was a great final. Kelvedon are a good side, and I think they’re the best in the competition other than us.”
