OLD Brentwood acorns (u14s) made the final of a hotly contested development competition on Sunday.
In their first game they beat Chelmsford 17-0 before losing by the same score to Stowmarket in game two.
Disappointed with their performance acorns rallied under the leadership of Tom Richards to win their hard-fought third match 26-12 against Colchester Robins.
The last game of the preliminary rounds saw acorns take on Kent side Dartfordians.
A close match between two evenly matched teams ended up with the acorns winning 14-5.
The boys took on one of the hosts Colchester Crows and sealed a 14-5 victory to book a final spot against Dartfordians.
However, acorns went down to an early try, fought back, but ulimately went down fighting 12-5.
