SOUTHEND United boosted their survival hopes with a crucial 3-2 win against Burton Albion on Monday.

But the Shrimpers still face a fight to maintain their League One status.

With only two games to go, Kevin Bond’s side sit 19th in the standings, just one place above the relegation zone.

And the battle could well go until the final day of the season with another 10 teams still able to go down alongside rock bottom Bradford City.

However, Blues are facing the toughest run in of the sides most in danger towards the foot of the table as Echosport’s look at the teams reveals.

19TH: SOUTHEND UNITED (47 POINTS)

Blues head to 15th-placed Rochdale - who have triumphed in three of their last four games - this weekend before hosting Sunderland, who sit fourth, on the final day of the season.

The Shrimpers’ superior goal difference is worth an extra point at this stage but the combined total of teams left to play is 19.

20TH: PLYMOUTH ARGYLE (47 POINTS)

Plymouth have suffered four successive defeats and have not won in their last seven games.

The Pilgrims head to 14th-placed Accrington this weekend before hosting fellow strugglers Scunthorpe on the final day.

That means the combined League places of their remaining opponents is 36.

21ST AFC WIMBLEDON (46 POINTS)

Wimbledon sit in the final relegation position but drew 2-2 at table-topping Luton Town on Tuesday night and have been in good form, losing just one of their last 10 games.

The Dons host 18th-placed Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend before finishing the season at bottom of the table Bradford, meaning the combined total of their opponents is 42.

22ND SCUNTHORPE UNITED (46 POINTS)

Scunthorpe have triumphed just once in their last 12 games, a 4-1 win against Blues in March.

The Iron host already relegated Bradford this weekend before visiting 20th-placed Plymouth on the final day, giving them a combined total of 44.

23RD WALSALL (43 POINTS)

Walsall seem destined to be back in League Two next season.

The Saddlers have lost seven of their last eight games and were fortunate to draw 1-1 with Blues on Friday.

Walsall host Peterborough on Saturday before finishing the season at Shrewsbury, giving them a combined total of 24.
