A HOST of non-league football fixtures due to take place today were called off this morning.
Basildon United, Hullbridge Sports and Southend Manor will now not be involved in their respective scheduled fixtures because of the pitches being deemed to be waterlogged.
Lee Connor’s Basildon were due to make the trip to Soham Town Rangers for an Isthmian North contest, but the surface was deemed to be unplayable.
Hullbridge were expected to go head-to-head with Romford, who are managed by former Billericay Town owner Glenn Tamplin, in the Isthmian North.
But, just four days after Hullbridge enjoyed a remarkable comeback to beat Brentwood Town 4-3, the Brentwood Arena pitch failed a pitch inspection.
In the Essex Senior League, Southend Manor will not go toe-to-toe with Woodford Town after their Southchurch Park pitch was waterlogged.
