SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Tuesday night's defeat to Forest Green Rovers at Roots Hall.

It was an improvement on the start of the season, and when (or if) injuries and the embargo go we may have a reasonable League Two team in a couple of months. But by then we'll be further adrift and doomed to non-league. Which is a horrible thought.

@Moorhouse79

Thought we deserved a point, cannot fault the players for effort, gave 110 per cent, Ebgri in particular ran and ran until he cramped up.

@Johnfrench52Sky

We need a minimum of 46 points to stand a chance of survival as a Football League club despite the increased workrate and near misses we dont look like getting anywhere near that target.

@shrimpersaway

First half played really positively. Seemed to tire in second half but can't fault the effort from our players. They were first class. But Forest Green showed the difference with taking chances in front of goal. To win you have to score. Can't sign players to help if you have an embargo.

@robertaskew7

The defence has improved a great deal in last couple of games but we simply need a striker. I can’t believe the fact we actually have one simply waiting in the wings.

@tee19810

Same old, same old.

@jervis_raymond

Ron Martin about as inadequate as iFollow. Mark Molesley has finally got us competitive in this League yet we’ll never be as competitive as we can be if the embargo is sorted out. By the time it is if ever we’ll be too far adrift!

@wheeliosmaximus

Nothing from us as an attacking unit due to lack of squad depth and COVID . It’s mission impossible right now. Ron Martin - lift the embargo this week it’s almost too late.

@AndyChefwali

We’re in trouble unless the embargo is lifted the next day or two. Need to sign experienced players, not kids from Spurs et al.

@glentiesbhoy

Shows how far we’ve fallen when I’m looking at a 1-0 defeat thinking it’s not a bad result. Quite a decent performance considering the circumstances, but lacking the cutting edge in front of goal which costs us. If we can stay in games though then we always have a chance.

@Ljarvis27

Really feel for Matt Rush, if he scores it changes the game completely. Would love to give an opinion on the Forest Green goal but thanks to iFollow I still haven’t seen it.

@jacobwoods97

Feel for Rush, never gets a full chance or a run of games to show what he’s about. It’s got to be hard as a striker thinking ‘MM is going to take me off soon’ instead of being alllowed to settle for a few games.. 100 per cent sure it’s the reason he snapped at his shot.

@EssexTartan

Look more solid with White back. But we are very short in the final third and things won’t change unless we have attacking reinforcements. Players just not good enough otherwise. Six league goals in 13 games tells you everything. Can’t fault the work rate.

@Drucey92

Twelve pros on the sidelines, a year-long embargo has killed this club and 114 years of Football League pedigree. Thought we looked far, far more organised and competitive than the first six/seven games but the teamsheet says it all. A draw would have been a terrific result.

@AllAtSeaFanzine

We are not even three months into the season and we probably need to win four games out of the next five to have any real chance of staying in the League. Sounds like there was no shortage of endeavour and effort which is good to see. But ultimately we don't have enough quality to compete.

@JimboCambo

MM has got the team competitive and hard workinbug t without a goal threat we’re not going to win games as we rarely keep a clean sheet. Ron Martin must get the embargo lifted without delay, to then strengthen the squad and enable Hart and Akinola to play to give us any chance of staying up!

@tommyharris57

Disaffected. Numb to every result now. Got what I expected - regulation under-par performance and inevitable loss.

@Ice_Speedway

Not a shot on target, ifollow did us a favour.
